Many clients write cards of thanks.  Their kind words are always appreciated.  The following are some examples of what clients have had to say.
(Please note that authors' names have been omitted and babies' names abbreviated to initials to protect confidentiality.)

If you are a previous client and would like to make a comment, please send it to me.  If you have a baby photo you'd be willing to have included, that would be great.  Please let me know if you would like your name and/or your baby's name to show.  Thanks!

Some people come into our lives for a short period of time and leave lasting footprints...Jules was one of those people.  We feel so blessed to have had Jules as our midwife and baby catcher.  Our darling baby spent the first month of his life in the hospital and Jules was a tremendous support mechanism for us.  She was an angel sent from the heavens to watch over our family during some of the most trying days of our life.  She went above and beyond the call of duty and assisted us outside the scope of her job.  She became a friend and a mentor and has kindly offered to stay in touch with us as we work through our son's medical condition.  What we admire most about Jules was her wisdom, compassion, respect for Eastern cultures, and confidence.  She was always one step ahead of me in terms of my needs and our baby's needs.  In the beginning my family was doubtful of us choosing to take the midwife route opposed to the OB that was assigned to us but by the end of our time with her she had won the hearts of our family.  Jules, we can't thank you enough for everything that you have done for us!

"Thank you for all of your help, kindness, advice, and words of insight.  Knowing you has proven to be an entirely positive experience.  Having you
there made our life - and the whole experience - easier and better!  You are obviously a very genuine and caring person, and we thank you for that.  You are a very wise woman, and we have learned lots from you - both of us; and we look forward to learning even more!"

"Dear Jules...  An extraordinary midwife, mentor, friend, advocate, support:  We could not have done it without you!  We truly appreciate everything you have done for us.  Getting me an epidural sooner than later, helping us make informed decisions, advocating for us to be doing the tube feedings, and to be holding J. when they did the blood test for the bilirubin, providing us with excellent pre and post natal care, for providing support when I was in labour, for loving what you do, for sharing all your wisdom, for researching my breastfeeeding concerns and issues, and the list could go on forever.  We are so thankful for you.  Thank you for everything."

"Thank  you for all your help and wisdom.  You have helped us more than you know!"

"We want to thank you so very much for being our midwife and for all your support, dedication and encouragement throughout the pregnancy and especially throughout O.'s birth.  Your presence at O.'s birth will always hold a very special place in our hearts.  We felt so confident in your care and really appreciate how you advocated for us at the hospital.  Thank you!"

"We really wanted to say thank you for all your support over the past months.  Having you there during pregnancy and afterwards was so amazing.  The help you have given us is priceless.  You exceeded our expectations.  I don't know if we could have got through some of it without you.  We just really wanted you to know how much we appreciate what you do and what you have done for us."

We can't thank you enough!!  You kept us together and sane during the most difficult life challenge thrown our direction to date.  You inspired us to push for the proper care and stop at no end to get the answers to our questions from the health care providers.  You may have caught 'R', but 'R' is the lucky one to have gotten a chance to catch on to you at such an early age.  We look forward to keeping in touch with you as 'R' grows to become a fine young man.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that YOU impacted MY life in such a HUGE way.  You have such a warm way about you and so personable that it always made me relax.  You are just so encouraging to be around.  Your wisdom was evident in all you said and you have such a gentle spirit as you teach!  Thank you for all your love.

I want to thank you for being such an amazing source of support for me during my pregnancy. Your understanding of my work situation and how much it was affecting me meant so much to me after being invalidated by others.  My whole pregnancy and birth were exactly how I wished them to be.  You are truly great at what you do and we are so lucky to have met you.

One of my most treasured thank you cards included a poem written by the client:

She Is
She is the Mother of Mothers.
A practitioner of the old ways.  The wise ways.
The Back-in-the, Those-were-the-days days,
When women were revered as the goddesses they are.
She is solace to the not-yet-mother.
She is the One who helps us to Remember
Who we Are and what we stand for.
She aims to empower the WOMAN in all of us
Even in the Men.
She reminds us to listen to our bodies
Because they already know.
And mostly,
She reminds us of the utter miracle that is Birth
And woman’s indelible role in the miracle.
She is support, patience and strength
When the mother falls weak
And she reminds us that our power lies within.
The bridge between womb and world rest                                                                                   Jules doing a newborn exam: can't resist a kiss!
In her knowing hands as she delivers creation,
Assuming the role of Goddess Almighty
As she transforms Girl into Woman
And Woman into Mother.
She is truly a Wise Woman in all respects
Of the word.
She is a Midwife.
